About the author

Dr. Ryan Nord received his MD degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine with a distinction in research in Otolaryngology. He completed his training in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at University Hospitals at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Nord is board certified in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery and joined VCU in 2016. He is an Associate Professor and Director of Sleep Surgery.

Dr. Nord’s expertise is in the surgical treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, especially as it pertains to Upper Airway Stimulation (UAS) where he is one of the nation’s most experienced surgeons. He has taught and lectured extensively on this subject at the national and international level. His published research focuses hypoglossal nerve stimulation along with a wide array of sleep surgery topics.
